Halifax-based Maritime Travel has been recognized nationally for excellence in business performance for 2022 - the travel company has been named a Platinum Club winner of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
The winners are amongst the best-in-class of Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $50 million, demonstrating leadership in strategy, capabilities and innovation, culture and commitment, and financials to achieve sustainable growth.
“This year’s award is especially meaningful as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw a virtual shutdown of the worldwide travel industry for two years. Now, more than ever, we owe our success in achieving this award to the dedication of our branch teams across the country. Our knowledgeable, caring staff on the front lines, together with state-of-the-art technology and operations, have been instrumental,” said Gary Gaudry, president of Maritime Travel.
A Platinum Club winner must maintain Best Managed status for a minimum of six consecutive years.
Maritime Travel, in business since 1949 and with 100 full-service travel agency locations nationwide, has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Platinum Club for 17 consecutive years.
Prior to that, it had been named one of Canada’s Best Managed companies since 1998.
Canada’s Best Managed Companies remains one of the country’s leading business awards programs. Every year, hundreds of companies compete for this designation.
Established in 1993, it is sponsored by Deloitte Private, CIBC, The Globe and Mail, Salesforce, and TMX Group.
Applicants are evaluated by an independent judging panel on how they address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalization, brand management, leadership, leveraging and developing core competencies, designing information systems, and hiring the right talent to facilitate growth.
2022 winners will be honoured at galas across the country. For more information, click here.
