After being charged by the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), Michael Shane Adams plead guilty to operating a travel agency and offering travel services in the form of short-term rentals without TICO registration in contravention of the Travel Industry Act, 2002.

In addition, he plead guilty to operating a website offering for sale the arrangement of short-term rentals of various properties.

Mr. Adams indicated that he would be submitting an application to register with TICO but did not follow through with completing the application process and has never been registered with TICO as a travel agent to date, TICO said in a release on Monday (March 29).

On March 26, 2021 Michael Shane Adams was found guilty of contravening section 4(1) of the Travel Industry Act, 2002, and a fine of $3,000 plus Victim Fine Surcharge was imposed.
