Right in time for Toronto’s Pride Month, a duo of travel professionals have launched a quarterly networking event for LGBT travel and tourism professionals and allies.
JUST beCAUSE, an event founded by Armando Mendonça and Darrell Schuurman, is designed to bring LGBT travel professionals together for an evening of socializing while also raising money for LGBT organizations across Canada.
“We wanted to give back to the community,” Schuurman, a managing partner at DNA Marketing, stated in release. “It’s LGBT tourism networking with a cause.”
Each JUST beCAUSE event supports a different LGBT organization in Canada. The inaugural event, which will be held in Toronto on June 16 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Berkeley Bicycle Club (504 Jarvis St.), will raise funds for the Egale Centre, a transitional and emergency housing facility exclusively dedicated to LGBTIQ2S youth.
“This is an important cause and we are so pleased to be able to support them in their efforts,” Mendonça, owner of AMPM, a travel consulting and marketing company, stated in a release.
Attendees will have an opportunity to win a seven-night trip to Vienna courtesy of the Vienna Tourist Board, Austrian Airlines and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
JUST beCAUSE is free to attend; however, a donation to the Egale Centre is encouraged. To register, visit justbecause2016.ca.
